Policies and Procedures

The Oshkosh Police Department provides its policies and procedures to the general public. Some policies have been redacted for the following reasons and applicable State Statutes:

Although the general presumption in Wisconsin is that all records created or maintained by a public entity are open to the public, this general presumption may be overcome by significant interests favoring non-disclosure of the requested information. Accordingly, pursuant to the Wisconsin State Statutes §19.35(1)(a) balancing test, addresses, phone numbers, email addresses, information relating to domestic abuse victims and web addresses have been redacted. In performing the balancing test, it was determined that the public interest in protecting the above-described information outweighs any public interest in disclosure.
