Motorcycle Unit

In 2017, the Oshkosh Police Department acquired a Harley Davidson Electra Glide motorcycle. Trained motor officers deploy the police motorcycle primarily using it for traffic enforcement with a focus on safety at roundabouts, areas of speed concerns and high-crash locations. The size and maneuverability of the motorcycle make it advantageous for this purpose. The motor unit is also used for public relations events that occur throughout the City, making it an asset to our community policing efforts.
